2021 Board of Director Nominations
The Nominating Committee is pleased to present the following nominees for two available three-year volunteer positions on the ACFCU Board of Directors.
Suzanne Harvey (incumbent)
Ms. Harvey joined the Supervisory Committee in 1999, served as Secretary and then as Chair until 2002. Since joining the Board in 2002, she has served on the Training, Nominations and Policies committees. From 1996 – 2011, Ms. Harvey directed the Career and Internship Center at Marymount University. She also worked in several capabilities with Fairfax County Public Schools and Northern Virginia Community College. The overarching theme of her professional career has been coaching others to reach their goals. Currently, she serves as a real estate agent. Ms. Harvey also enjoys learning about the latest trends in credit union products and services and how the Credit Union seeks to deliver these to members with a personalized and friendly touch.
Steve Halkyard (incumbent)
Mr. Halkyard joined the Supervisory Committee in 2003 and served for eight years before joining the Board of Directors in 2011. Since joining the Board, Mr. Halkyard has been a member of the Nominating Committee, the Asset Liability Management Committee, and has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Halkyard retired from Arlington County Government after 34 years of service, and is currently a senior inspector with the Virginia Department of Transportation. He has lived in Northern Virginia for over 50 years and is married with one adult daughter. As a long time credit union member and employee of Arlington County Government, Mr. Halkyard is passionate about continuing to provide financial education and new financial services to meet the needs of our growing community.

Additional nominations may be made by petition, which much contain the signatures of one percent of the ACFCU membership as of October 31, 2020. Petitions and complete application packets must be submitted to the Nominating committee by February 26, 2021.
